    No headphone or speaker device.

I recently got the Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Alpha headset for Christmas and tried them out. I plugged in the USB thing that came with it, which allowed you to plug the headphones and mic into a USB port, and it installed the device fine. Right now I have to send them back because of a problem with the headset. But when I unplugged the USB I noticed that I have no speaker in playback devices. And when I plug in my older headphones into the front of the computer they don't appear in the playback devices. I tried checking "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices" but all I get are four Digital Audio (HDMI) devices. The same thing shows up in Device Manager.

I could use my headphones but only when the Sound Blaster USB thing was plugged in. I have Realtek High Definition Audio but now it doesn't show up in Device Manager. Also, my speakers are built into my monitor.

Hello laetes, welcome to the Sevenforums!

You might try using a restore point to before the headphones were installed: System Restore

Or reinstalling your Audio drivers (uninstall previous, install newer one from motherboard or sound card's website)

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the oldest time in System Restore was 3 days after I installed the headset.
I will try installing the driver software.

I tried installing the driver software but I still have the four Digital Audio (HDMI) devices which I've never had before.

Install Revo uninstaller free to remove them: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
It is good at cleaning up stuff that is difficult to remove. Make sure you get the correct downloads from the motherboard manufacturer's website
Let me know if it works
