help findin adapter to enable both 5.1 devices to connect but select 1

ello folks
i have an x-fi titanium soundcard with logitech 5.1 speakers that use 3x 3.5mm jacks ive ordered a set of roccat kaves which also use 3x3.5mm jacks.
what i would like to know is. is there some kind of cable or a switch box that i can plug all jacks in but select which device i want to use? so i dont have to keep swapping them at the back of my pc. or is the best thing to just use some 3.5mm jack extensions and mount them closer to me. then just swap the cables as and when??

any help is much apreciated folks. thanks in advance

you could do it by bypassing your sound card, using a usb sound card such as StarTech.com 7.1 USB Audio Adapter Sound Card with SPDIF Digital Audio Sound card - 48 kHz

not sure if you could run an optical cable from your sound card to that card... might not support input and output.

I have a USB surround sound headset, and personally i cant notice a drop in sound performance, mainly as headphones sound different to my AV receiver speakers as it is lol.

hello badger
thanks for ur reply. untill recently i was using logitech g35's which were virtual 7.1 surround. they did sound really good but i want real 5.1 which is why i bought the roccat kaves.
i know u can get similar things for scart leads so u can switch devices. i just didnt now if u could get one that does audio connections. if not il just hav to use some extension leads.
thanks

well there is a difference between "virtual" surround sound in head sets and surround sound itself.

My headset has 4 drivers per ear cup and powers through usb and gives true surround sound... but i use that term loosley as im not convinced by it at all.. doesnt have a patch on my Home cinema system, but due to seating arrangement my speakers are in the wrong orientation when gaming

such devices do exist STEREO AUDIO SWITCH - 3.5mm A B Audio Switch Box however.. most are only accommodate one source at a time, not 3
