WMP 12 cant play music CD

Hi,
For some reason my version of Windows Media Player 12 cannot play a music CD. Its a genuine paid for copy of The Bee Gees Number Ones. It can read the disc fine and recognises it but it just makes a sort of hiccuping sound instead of playing the songs. I know the CD is fine as it works on my sons pc with same specs and my hubbys with XP. I have checked other music cd's and they work fine.

Does anyone know why it wont play this one?

I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

thanks in advance
Gill
