OK, when I asked you if it had done this from day one, or only just recently? You said recently. If you had just recently installed some new hardware or programs I would ask what they were and maybe ask you to remove them. When you re-installed windows did you do use the built in recovery utility or recovery disks to return the PC to factory condition? If yes and the noise is still there my guess is its a hardware fault.
