    Recording off Winamp player

hello there. A question on Recording my singing. Winamp is the player and my music is transmitted on stream in virtual worlds. I'm not wanting to record the live show. My aim is to find a player compatible with winamp so I have the option of doing one song at a time.
If you have any knowledge on this matter may I ask for your advice please?
    Cheers,

I have a recording studio (I use Sonar).

Having a program that will record from streaming audio and a mic at the same time requires more than I think the free Audacity program will do. Audacity will record from "Stereo Mix" (set as default recording device) and the mic but I don't think you can have separate tracks for the music and vocal.

If its just the music stream from Winamp or whatever media player, or from streaming audio from the internet, as long as you have Stereo Mix set as the default recording device, Audacity will do what you want.

Anything above this and you need a "real" recording program.

Appreciate your input as I am far less than an amateur. But I have friends who want some of my songs so your advice will help a lot
