Bose Companion 5 with USB Headset - Compatibility Issues

Just bought a new Dell XPS 8300 with Bose Companion 5 system - overall, everything is great. One problem, though; when using my Plantronics USB headset for work, I am not able to receive sound through headset speaker in my ear when Bose system is active. On the flip side, when USB headset is set as default audio device, Bose system won't work and all PC sounds are routed through headset, which bothers me.

Tried setting Bose as "Default Audio Device" and USB headset as "Default Communication Device" with no luck. It seems I can only use one system properly - not both at the same time.

I did manage to get USB headset microphone to work with Bose system working - but, no speaker sound could be heard through the USB headset.

Goal: Bose 5 system as computer audio and USB headset as communication device, allowing me to take VOIP calls for work - effectively, having both systems functioning at once.

Thoughts? Tips? Recommendations?

Many thanks!!

Windows 7 System / Bose Companion 5 System

Sincerely, Bear77
