Auzentech Prelude wrecks Sibelius 7 due to ctaud2k.sys by Creative

Auzentech Prelude is a sound card the accompanying software of which includes a 32 bit .sys file from Creative Technology that seriously debilitates a Window 64 bit system's ability to run Sibelius 7!

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ctaud2k.sys
product: Creative Audio Product
company: Creative Technology Ltd
description: Creative WDM Audio Device Driver

Never install (or uninstall) the Creative software in the driver-package from Auzentech. Only use the Auzentech driver and software if you plan on buying the Sibelius software!
I learned this the hard way!

I hope I save someone else by this warning.

Pbef, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Not to defend Creative, but have you considered that the problem might be with the program and not the sound card drivers? And that 32 bit driver is there for compatibility with 32 bit programs.

Also who do you think wrote the drivers for that card? They are still Creative drivers made for the Auzentech line of X-Fi based cards. Auzentech in no way writes the drivers for their cards.
