Windows 7 - Onboard driver help please

Hi there. I have installed Windows 7 but currently cant get the right drivers for the onboard sound.

The mobo is a Foxconn 915PL7AE-S

Its a clean install 32 bit gold (retail) version
I have tried the latest R230 realtek drivers but all i get is no audio output device is installed and a messgae after restart saying driver installation unsuccessfull

This is currently a big problem and would appreciate any help

According to this page of spec, your onboard audio is Realtek ALC880. So the 2.30's won't work for you. Unfortunately, from what I have read, the ALC880 drivers aren't going to work with Windows 7...this thread from Technet shows people had problems with that driver for Vista and Windows 7. Your best bet is probably to purchase an add-on card. as it appears your onboard sound is no longer supported by Realtec.

I installed ALC880 drivers for Windows 7 from the following link:

My onboard sound is Realtech ALC880 on an HP PTGD-LA motherboard.

It works .

Well according to foxconn's website the audio is Realtek ALC655

These are the only Win 7 Drivers I found. Hope this helps.

They are working in my Abit AA8XE motherboard with ultimate.
