Sound playing too fast

There's a few driver downloads on that page you may want to check out. One is for the chipset. The "inf" files are necessary too. This helps Windows configure the chipsets. Review all the updates on that page and verify against your drivers. Or you can run the auto-detect and let Intel update the necessary drivers. After that, make sure Windows auto-update for drivers is turned off.

Okay so here is how the real situation is. I completely formatted my Hard disk, re-installed Windows 7 x32 and added a Sound card hardware, and the same problem exists. The first thing that the new sound card does not make any sound in the speakers, WEIRD, yet the windows show that they are working just fine. Nevermind that, but the issue still exists. All the Video and Audio are still on some kinda Steroids or something. Playing fast. I don't know what I've gotten myself into -.-

Yes, it worked absolutely fine on Windows XP, Windows 7 x64 and Windows 7 x32

It would seem to me, that since you have reinstalled the OS, plus installed a sound card, that the problem must be hardware based (motherboard), unless you didn't disable onboard sound and that is what it is trying to use. However, that sounds unlikely, since that would mean that you are using the sound jacks on the motherboard, rather than on the sound card. However, it is not clear to me, whether the sound is now mute or fast. If mute, then try disabling onboard sound, and check your speaker connections.

So now, here are the latest stats.
I tried configuring the Speakers but they do not seem to work. The Jack has been properly inserted and everything. Maybe because the Sound Card is a little old and wasn't being used. Tried disabling and enabling the devices and everything, the drivers are fine, but nevermind that. When the Speaker Jack is placed in the external sound card, the Videos are played normally, but when I placed it back in the Motherboard Sound, it accelerated again, with the same sound. So yeah It's more likely to be a hardware rather than software. I'll be needing to take it to a professional now I suppose.

I can understand that since you reinstalled, this would not affect you, but it may help others who are experiencing the same symptoms.

When going into Playback Devices and clicking on the Properties for your speakers, click on the Enhancements tab and make sure that Pitch Shift is NOT checked.

THANK YOU. Just had this same problem, have NO idea how that setting was changed (although I will have to ask my 18 year old daughter who loves to play around), but this was it. Was driving me absolutely crazy.
