You don't have to format for a clean install, as windows moves everything to windows.old so you get a "clean" operating system. You just have to move everything from your old users folder in windows.old/users to your new one. It makes things real nice and simple now. =) I'm really happy with how they did that as of Vista.

    Clean Install Windows 7

Just don't format, and when your done transfer your old user files which are found in:

    C:\Windows.old\Users\userX\My Documents.....
So copy My Documents, Downloads, My Pictures, ect... (don't do Desktop though unless you have actual files and not shortcuts on it). Basically re-copy everything from your old Users folder to the new locations now.

Like for me, I use mushroomboy as my user, so...

    C:\Windows.old\Users\mushroomboy\Whatever....

    Get the idea?

If you have any games or anything it'll be in:

Windows.old\Program Files... Once you do a clean install over an existing install and see how they did the layout for it all it's pretty simple to understand.

Whenver you do Custom Install and don't format it always saves the User folder into Windows.old (as well as other data). This is because they built a rollback feature for installing Windows7/Vista that really worked out for the better. You could backup everything to an external if your afraid of formatting. But you don't need to as long as you don't format, just don't hesitate and get jittery. The calmer you are the better things go, really their is nothing to fear. I've lost 200G of data messing with partitions before, no biggie just had some extra work ahead.

The way I see it you have 2 paths, either go for it and learn or have somebody hold your hand and don't learn. Just to a custom install, don't format, and figure out how the Windows.old layout is and learn so next time you don't have to ask us. Or find a tutorial/program that holds your hand. I promote people doing it on their own, otherwise they won't learn. That's why I really hate windows, it doesn't teach you anything about an OS or how to fix problems, you just get a program that makes everything "dissapear".

The errore message ''The speech engine cdon't support this action at this time'' :)

    ctguy, you're welcome.

Arcalimon, still not sure what's going on there. For Vent are you in Game mode or Entertainment mode?

Also updated the first post with Filefront mirrors for all four files.
