Weird, I just don't have Settings\DevType_0888_SS147b1083 or something like that. What's the issue?

There's no such key in 0001-0007. I've opened all possible openable keys - nothing.
don't know if this has anything to do with this problem, BUT when I plug my headphones into my mike jack I get the PU that asks me which device I just plugged in. I chk headphone and everything works like it did in XP.
no wiring changed.
with one of the drivers I did get a reaction when I UNPLUGGED the headphone from the headphone jack, but the result was the same since it never gave me the PU when I plugged it in.
I think my problem is drivers. using 2.30 and been thru all of them.
realtek has the problem. maybe they will fix it.
maybe all this is the same issue.
Any chance to apply that on ALC650 (nForce2 MCP-T APU)? I mean these are all software based, aren't they?

OMG
Just registered!
I have to thank Neilsouth, coz the fix worked great for me! (Windows 7 RTM)
Now a question:
Why the hell this Realtek drivers have no popup asking what was plugged ?? (Link Windows XP drivers...)
Is that a temporary bug that would be soon fixed??
Thx in advance!
well i have windows 7 RTM as well and the newest realtek drivers and it didn't work for me. and i know that this version doesn't ask what was plugged like windows xp drivers do, but you can download a single file from windows xp drivers and you'll get that, however you'll be able to change every speaker to be front speaker, which is not really 5.1. and i don't think its a temporary bug cause that has been going on for a while now.
