    Need new sound card

Hi , i'm a long xp user that changed to windows7x64
I like playing my game son xp because the sound is not that good on windows 7, i have low volume, distortion, TBH is not the same experience,
    I was wondering.
Seeing that many games are starting to support DX10 and DX11, i wonder if i change my soundcard, will i get the same audio that i had on xp?
    here are my specs.

    Intel i3 2100
    hd 6670 1gb gddr5
    Audigy 2 value
    8gb ram
Logitech 5.1 speakers (i play 2.1 only or headphones)

So far i'm playing some dx10-dx11 game son 7 and the sound is not that good, compared to the same game son windows xp.
    Hope to get some advices.

You should check out sound cards from HT|Omega

They have some hi-grade stuff, most notably the quality of components used.

Likely overkill for gaming which has very poor sonics but if you also listen to HD music then it's justified.

IF you replace the existing sound card with a latest sound card then it would have a better sound. I would recommend to confirm the prices before purchasing.

I bypass this issue by my integrated HD audio running optically to my outboard dac. But for gaming you shouldn't need to spend a ton of cash.

HT/Omega IS a good suggestion, just make sure the interface will marry up with what's on your motherboard.

I was very surprised to find out my HT/Omega Claro+ would not fit the newest x79 platform from Asus...the P9X79Pro did away with that type slot.

Most dedicated cards will do that have support for eax. As for the xi-fi xtreme audio, that one does not use the actual Xi-Fi chip. It uses an upgraded version from the audigy chip. You won't get much of it if you want any HD Video or audio. I for one use the Xonar DS. It performs admirably for music and hd video, and just as well for games. Need to confess though, i am not an avid gamer. I can vouch for it's sound quality in music and videos though.

Thanks for the advices guys, I'm not to picky about sound fidelity, But i do want high sound on my pc while using windows 7. TBH i found it amazing that there's a big difference in Xp compared to 7.
I'm starting to think this was done on purpose .
i'll tale a look at your recommendations.
