Communications(microphone) Causes All sound to go quiet

Please help! I have it set in the option under control panel>sound> communications to NOT reduce the volume when using the mic, but it does it anyway.
I believe it happened when i installed Realtek audio drivers (which did nothing...) but maybe screw up the fact that my computer was working the way i wanted it to for once...Why did i mess witht he drivers.
How am i to update my computer without screwing it up like that?
But drivers dont matter, I need help finding out what is controlling my volume, and where to change the option becuae it is not windows doing it. Thanks

Did you install any software alongside the drivers? Sometimes device's software will override Window's settings if I'm not mistaken. Check your "Control Panel" for anything "Realtek" and go from there.

I know the solution. Go to control pannel --> Sound --> Communications

    Tick "Do nothing"
Then restart. Did you try restarting?
