headphones + microphone
I have a tritton 720 headset hooked up to my computer and recently it started glitching out on me. I'm not sure if it's a hardware malfunction or if there's a setting in windows for my problem so I thought i'd ask before I go splurge on a new headset.
So my problem is that whenever I try to use my microphone to communicate via a 3rd party voip app it also broadcasts whatever i'm hearing or have in the background.
It started when I accidently pulled my headsets cord out of its controller and exposed the wiring, after I pushed it back in to conceal the wires the back left speakers stopped working so I switched it to stereo in my realtek HD soundconfig. I thought that had something to do with my problem so i switched it back to 5.1 and did a soundcheck via the soundconfig, and as before the back left speaker was silent. But after I unchecked the "rear pair" and proceeded with another soundcheck I could hear the back left just fine, however my microphone problem persisted.
So a quick recap:
My headphones microphone broadcasts the sound I hear and hardware wise it all seems to be functioning even thought abit "wonky" after slight "misuse".
Thanks for your time and if this isn't something one can fix software wise i'd love to hear some headphone suggestions.
I was thinkning about getting a pair of astro a40+mixamp. If there's a cheaper setup equal or riviling it's soundquality i'm all ears.
