How do I change the output audio from USB to 3.5mm

So I have a headset that runs audio through a 3.5mm cable and gets power from the USB, but the audio is coming through the USB instead of the 3.5mm and sounding terrible. How would I change this from outputting through USB and instead have it through the 3.5.

Very little info to go on. No system specs, etc.

However, a general suggestion would be to check the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Playback panel. If the "speakers" are not set as the default playback device, set it as the default and that usually will fix your problem.

However, with the headset you apparently have, you may have to do this everytime you plug it in.

Does this headset have both a USB and a mini jack connection ?
It does appear that your sound may be comming from the chip in the USB headset.
Ideally you would have a set that just had 2 x 3.5 mm jacks, one for sound one for mic.

What is the make and model number of the headset? I am aware of some speakers that use the 3.5mm plug for audio, but are powered by USB.

Thanks guys, fireberd's way worked. The headset speakers was set as the default instead of Realtek speakers so swapping them fixed it.
