My pc has a similar thing too. But now it's very rare. Does it only happen when your r playing games or uninstall/uninstalling something?
I can ALWAYS replicate the crackling if WMP is playing music or DVDs and I browse the Internet (i.e. forums) or if I'm opening up pics.
I have 2 HDs, In XP the sound goes perfect, in W-7 is a nightmare of ramdom ticks when I try to work... I use Itunes but is the same in WMP.
How is posible that... none solution yet from Microsoft?
64bit, realtek HD audio driver / network card guy here.
Just been suffering from the same sound stuttering / crackling problem.
And I think I just fixed it by disabling my wireless card! I think I only noticed a crackle once since then, whereas before it was so frequent I could not even bear to listen to any mp3. If I notice anything again I will try disabling my keyboard hotkey monitor.
Previously I tried changing audio and network drivers, to no avail.
So it seems it is a CPU latency problem, and people are fixing it by several different methods.
Summary: I think I just fixed my audio stuttering problem by disabling my wireless network device!
After trying almost everything written in forums I resolved all my sound problems by completely removing Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player..good luck everyone!
Hi guys
Great forum here! ive been reading all of these posts for days now and still no joy, even updated my bios last night as well. (still nothing!)
I have this popping noise on my htpc running an amp through it and its a nightmare listening to the popping noises. I have a gigabyte ga-ma78gm s2h motherboard running windows 7 ultimate 32bit.
Im now thinking of going back to xp pro as i had no problems whatso ever with that, reading on here windows 7 seems to have more problems than ever?!?!?
Any1 suggest anything else before i go back in time!!! lol
You have to lol @ the people who think they've fixed this by disabling a wireless device or whatever. There's no rhyme or reason to the thing. Some days it's worse than others, I can go for weeks without it happening. Sometimes it will happen all the time in one media player but not in another.
The people who need to be doing something about this, Microsoft, Realtek etc, aren't. We're posting to the wrong forum. We need to find something closer to the manufacturer and go there mob handed
I try everything possible writen in this post and the problem is still there.
Thanks to all but, there is not a definitely solution yet.
I´m going to write here if I find one in any other part.
dear friend,
i saw that this crackle problem is so damn real!
