Can't use headset mic. Terrible feedback from webcam mic.

For some reason I can't use my headset mic to record. I have been through all the settings to no avail. I have a Toshiba NB 250 with a mic and headphone input only. There is a webcam with a mic next to it. I am trying to use audacity but I either get no sound recorded through my headset mic or screaming feedback which exponentially grows. I am fed up not getting the answer to this problem and need a result ASAP.

First rule, remember this is a users helping users forum. Your statement doesn't bode well for someone looking for free help.

Have you disabled the web cam mic in the Sound Panel, Recording section? That would seem to be the first step, so your headset mic is the only enabled microphone.

Webcam mic permanently on, causing feedback
I have a Microsoft LifeCam 5000 which I use for Skype calls. The microphone has recently become stuck ON so that all room noises are picked up and played through the speakers, even when Skype is not running (it's not set to open at Startup and I always quit when I've finished using it). Lifecam...

Never was a fan...But this looks terrible!
You've probably all seen it. Some of you may have even played the original (including me). But just how bad does it look on the Wii? Yes, Goldeneye is coming to Nintendo Wii and it looks like a cheap port from the Nintendo 64 Goldeneye 007. Just look at the official site and make up...
