still here the sound at 0 level from spkrs

The problem i am facing is really weird the sound from the speaker level is at 0 but i can still hear the sound and i dont know how its is coming when i press mute then its gone but still at 0 level of sound i can hear it how can i fix this issue

I get a very slight sound from my speakers when the volume control on the speakers is set to zero, with the PC's sound set to max. If I set the PC's sound to something less than max then I don't hear anything if the speaker's volume control is set to zero.

I don't know anything that can be done about it other than different speakers. I have a Phillips 2.1 system and it does it. I had an old Boston Accoustics 2.1 speaker system (from an old Gateway PC) and it didn't do this - if I turned it to zero there was no sound.
