Disabled Windows sound scheme reactivating on startup
The Windows sound "Windows Navigation Start" does not work properly upon doing a fresh installation of Windows 7. Both when test playing within the sound schemes menu, and when navigating folders, etc., the sound plays as an abbreviated pop or crackle. I don't believe that the WAV file is corrupted, as playing a YouTube video or doing something else that "activates"(?) my headphones or speakers causes the sound to play normally (at least until the video is paused or closed). I couldn't fix that problem, so I decided to first edit the sound scheme, and then disable it altogether. Oddly, both of these solutions proved useless as Windows resets my sound scheme and reactivates the Windows Start Navigation sound every time I reboot my computer. Any thoughts?
