OK Roderunner, thanks forthat. I am going to hang on until the cleaning disc comes, perhaps tomorrow and give that a try first, rather than start downloading another driver I have saved your link to my favourites so know where to go if the cleaner does not work. I printed out the PDF instructions so should be alright. I will let you know what happens and how I get on. Do you know Stewarton in Ayrshire?

Intermittent DVD Player

Ah, a wee tad north of Stewarton then. As for my DVD player, the sound card is alright, I can listen to music from the radio and UTube etc so I guess it must be a either a michanical problem with the DVD/CD R/WR or dirt on the mirror. The cleaning disc should arrive tomorrow morning. I will keep you posted.

I agreed to the friendship request by the way.

Cheers,

RonB
