Microphone really quiet

Hi guys, I wonder if you can help me. I have a Samsung R710 laptop and I've just updated it from windows XP to Windows 7 64bit. The built in microphone wasn't working (which was previously), so I downloaded the sounds driver from here:

Support for NP-R710

I've done a test on skype for my microphone but it is really quiet. If I shout into the built in slot I can hear myself other than that nothing. I went to sounds>recording>properties>levels and turned the sounds upto 100% and 0db boost but still no joy. If anyone could help me out it would be most appreciated.

Did you remove the old drivers?

Follow the instructions in Step 2 of the How-to Guide for sound located here.

The 32-bit drivers should still work. Post a snip of your Device Manager with the Sound section expanded.

Microphone issue (Too quiet, even on max settings)
Hello all. I've previously come to this forum and found answers for other issues I have been having, but I was unable to find a prior resolution to my current problem. My issue is that I am trying to record sound from my microphone (I can't test Ventrilo or Skype right now due to being stuck...

Microphone is too quiet if i'm not REALLY close to it.
Microphone is really too quiet if i'm not REALLY close to it (like touching my mouth). It used to work fine and loud from about 4 - 5 feets away before :S what can i do?? Thing I already tried: -Windows volume level at max. -Boost +30dB. -Same in VIA HD Audio Deck (full Vol and amp +30dB)....

USB microphone suddenly extremely quiet, nothing seems to fix it.
So this seems to be my last resort before I get a refund for my microphone and attempt to talk on Skype with a new one(but who knows, maybe the new one will go super quiet as well). It seems like my microphone simply stops being able to pick up much of anything in terms of sound. Not even tapping...

Communications(microphone) Causes All sound to go quiet
Please help! I have it set in the option under control panel>sound> communications to NOT reduce the volume when using the mic, but it does it anyway. I believe it happened when i installed Realtek audio drivers (which did nothing...) but maybe screw up the fact that my computer was working the...

Microphone is too quiet - tried many solutions.
This seems to be a problem for a lot of people using Windows 7 and there is no solid solution. I have 32 bit installed on both my laptop and desktop and on both the microphone level is too low despite enabling Boost Gain, tinkering endlessly with the sliders and options (such as CD Quality,...

Microphone volume unusably quiet under Win 7.
I have a frustrating recording problem - volume through my microphone is unacceptably poor under Win 7. I'm using a mic which recorded superbly under XP Pro on my old set-up. It's now plugged in to my new PC (front mic) under Win 7, but even with input level full and boost at 30dB the...
