Realtek HD Audio Speaker Configuration Problem Windows 7 Ultimate 64

I have an HP Pavilion m9402f system that uses the RealTek ALC888S chipset and I have it digitally connected to an Altec Lansing DP/N 028YKP – 4770-0CH-2C81 Rev A00 Amplifier by an SPDIF coax. The Altec Lansing AMP is connected to two front, two back and one base woofer speakers.

I am running windows 7 Ultimate (64Bit) using your latest device driver from your Web Site R2.68 download which shows up as the Rev 6.0.1.6602 driver. I have also tried using the original driver supplied by HP Rev. 6.0.1.5190 and both have the problems listed below.

Problem: I can only enable the 2-channel audio device. I cannot configure the speaker arrangement as five speakers on the Reltek HD Manager Display control panel. In addition the configure button is grayed out on the windows "Sound" Display Control Panel.

The displays shows only two channels of audio enabled. But the Default ConfigurationButton is Grayed out.

The Realtek HD Manager Display recognizes and shows that I am using an SPDIF Digital Coax Connection. I have a Digital Output Tab on that display but I do not have a Speakers Tab or a Microphone Tab displayed.

What do I have to do to configure the speakers? Is it a register setting that is not being properly set up? What are the registry keys for this device?

    Thank you for your help!

Not sure about yours, but on many, two channel is all you can get out of digital.
