Windows 7: Low audio quality on bluetooth headset

Low audio quality on bluetooth headset

Hi,

I have a Nokia BH-214 receiver. I tried pairing it with my Windows 7 PC and despite a lot of trouble (system couldn't find drivers for the device) I followed the instructions on the following page and finally made it work:
Installing Bluetooth Headset on Windows Vista / Windows Server 2008 - Komeil Bahmanpour

The problem is that the audio is terrible. I know the device is capable of great audio as I've connected it to my iPhone and Nokia phone all of which had great audio. I went into the device properties under sound settings and under the Advance tab it says that the "Default format" was "1 channel, 16 bit, 8000 hz". I'm no guru, but that sounds really bad, no pun intended. The problem is, the drop menu is grey, I can't change the quality to anything better.

I've tried everything I can think of and I can't change it. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advanced,
Raz
