    No bass coming from Sub

Not sure why but this morning when i switched my PC on, the settings had been reset on my soundcard. I reset them back to what i have always been using for the last 4-5 years.

I have a creative Xtremegamer, using latest drivers.

After messing about i finally had sound back in all channels except for the Sub.

In the creative settings i tested the channels and bass was been played on the Sub (In the channel assignment area)

Yet, when i play music films etc, no bass comes from the Sub.

I have Antec Lansing 5.1 System, had it for a good few years now. So not sure if its that on its way out!

I noticed that if i press the STER/SURR On my remote for the spekers, sound comes from the sub in Stero mode, but, in surround it doesn't.

I've tried using my onboard sound, but the same thing still happens.

Is this a software/Windows issue, or are my speakers (Sub) on there way out?

try uninstalling all your sound drivers, and then re-installing them.

    Done that.

Uninstalled, used Cclener, used driver sweeper.

    Used the latest from Creative.

    Have tried PAX too.

Like i said, was working fine yesterday, turned it on today, all settings had been lost and now Bass doesn't come through sub on 5.1 mode. when bass redirection is enabled or disabled.

    Tricky one!

Now when i do a channel test, it sys 'front left' out the front left but the sub also vibrates!

I have no idea what to think anymore.

I think its the speakers. They dont use RCA at the back of the sub, they use the (press the two prongs, insert metal strip and then release hte prongs) method.
I know ive had problems in the past with these not working and having to restrip the wire a little.

Maybe this is the problem? I have had the speaker around 5 years.

This is a completely different problem, but at the end of my own thread, i explain how to re assign a sound pin. maybe you should go into the registry the way i did and make sure you don't have pins assigned to the wrong binary values. I know im just pulling ideas out of a hat right now, but it might put you in the right direction. if you dont see any pins assigned at all, you could try playing around with some. there is a link on my last post that tells you the binary values for each pin. let me know what you find :)

Realtek onboard sound card with 5.1 surround speaker fill problem

p.s. im not sure if it would be different for creative, but like i said just throwing out ideas that might point you in the right direction

I honestly dont know what to think! Its weird thats its happening with both onboard sound and my xtremegamer.

Which points to the speakers been at fault surely?

Starting to think maybe it is my Soundcard.

Booted PC this morning. Soundcard is listed under device management, but not under the sound devices in control panel!?
