Logitec X-530 Sound System (probably obslete)
Realtek ALC898 8 Channel HD
Realtek Driver 6.0.1.6543
Someone gave this to me so I have nothing invested except a little time. Puts out some good sound. One small problem that baffles me. The front left and right does not put out sound. The speakers are ok if you read on.
I Have double checked all plugs and ports all match up.
When I call up the Realtec Sound Manager. All speakers work (center, woofer, and rear) except the front left and right. I discovered if I set the system to 7.1 speaker system and run Realtek's test the front speakers respond when the test is using the side speakers. I find this rather puzzling. Has anyone else expierenced this?

Do you have the correct RealTek drivers? Generally, the PC Vendor (or motherboard vendor if its a home built system) drivers should be used. Many times non-vendor drivers either do not work or do not work correctly as many vendors have custom implementations.

That would be my first step in trying to resolve the problem.
