Shut Down & Start Up sounds DO NOT work

my shut down and start up sounds are not working!!! when I shut down my computer and start up my computer, it starts up and shuts down silently!!! the sounds set for shut down and start up DO NOT work!!!!!!!!! when I go into Control Panel or into Personalization and into the system sound and click "test" it tests just fine!!!! but they DO NOT play when I start up my computer or shut down my computer!!!!!!!! same goes with ANY sounds I choose for start up and shut down!!!! they won't work at all!!!!!!!! they test just fine in the personalization window and in control panel, but refuse to play when I shut down or boot up...

I've had problems with any sound (for any function) other than the default sounds that Windows assigns. Are you using the original default sounds or some other sound?

I am using my own sounds... on two of my themse it works just fine (Reshiram Theme)&(Moltres theme) but none of my other themes custom sounds work on boot up and shut down... I have custom sounds on all dings and errors, hardware insert/remove, & empty recycle bin... all those work, just not start up and shut down... like I said, they test fine in control panel and theme personalization when I click 'test' but they fail to sound during the shut down and boot up process..

I've had the same problem. A custom sound will work in the control panel, but not for actual operations.
