hdmi cable to LG tv no audio

    hi,
i have my pc connected to a LG flatron 22" tv by hdmi cable the picture is fine but the audio does not play through the tv, a jack cable from the pc to the tv does not work either, if i use the jack plug into separate speakers it will play the audio through the speakers. i have checked in play back devices that the tv is default device, checked audio and graphics card drivers they are all up to date.

    pc specs are:
cpu: amd phenom ii x4 BE 3.4ghz
    mobo: asus m4n75td
graphics card: 2 x nvidia gefore 8800 gs in sli

stuck on what to try next any help would be appreciated
    cheers

billyc, welcome to the Seven Forums.

You can't get audio over HDMI from the Nvidia 8xxx/9xxx series of cards without doing the following,

    Hi all
    A have a problem
My LCD TV (LG 32 LD650) do not play audio
I connect my notebook HP Pavilion g6 and TV via HDMI
    Video shows in resolution FullHD
    Screen's duplicated (win-P)
speaker icon in the right corner of the display with a red cross, when you hover the mouse on it pops up message "No audio output device detected"
In the properties "Control panel - Sound" also no audio volume (see attach)
May be my video card do not support transfer audio stream? or TV not supported speakers?
