Need help with audio configuration between xbox and computer

Hello, I am new here and have a quick question and I have no idea how to solve this.

Alright, so here is my issue. I have a Dell inspiron 530 desktop computer with a dell 30" lcd monitor. I also have an xbox 360 s. I have the xbox 360 hooked up to my monitor using hdmi while my speakers are hooked up to the monitor's audio port. So the xbox works fine and the sound comes through the speakers great. Now i have my desktop computer also hooked up to the monitor using a digital connection (not analog). The only problem is because the speakers are hooked into the audio out on the monitor, the computer doesn't recognize the speakers. The computer seems to need the speakers hooked up to one of the audio ports for it to recognize them. I was really hoping that there was a way that the computer can recognize the speakers through the monitor's audio out port so I do not have to sacrifice audio from my xbox or desktop. Hope this all makes sense. Thanks!!!
