Windows 7: Sudden sound crash BUT mic still working, have to restart to temp fix

Hi. When i play several audio devices such as a game at the same time as i am in a skype conversation my sound stops working alltho the mic is still working as others can hear me even tho all my sound is out.

I have searched for months for a solution and i have re installed the OS, the drivers, and changed headsets and re installed all programs etc etc.



Symptoms: This occurs randomly alltho it seems to depend on the ammount of sound being player and/or grapgics being displayed as i can play my music and be on skype for longer than i can game and be in a skype combo or all 3 together.

The sound suddenly stops and i noticed than when / if i am playing a video of some sort the frame rate of it is very low and choppy.

All sounds are working according to the sound devices as they display the green bar bouncing up and down etc and i get no error of ay kind even if i search for them there is none recorded.


I have seen ALLOT of others with this problem but none have had a solution alltho some seem to have bypassed it by plugging in their headsets through USB, switching the sound frequency but none of this has worked for me. PLEASE find me a solution because having to reboot my pc everytime it happens is very frustrating as it happend anywhere between one a week to once a minute.

It has nothing to do with the hardware as i have already checked this through.

I am using Healtek HD audio if this helps.

Also this is not due to a virus or malware as this is still there after a clean re install of the OS.
