Yeah it has SP1 on it.
Do you really think this could fix it?
I'm tempted to open the case to check if it's a hardware problem.

If I do, what can I do to prevent frying anything in my computer?
I don't have a wrist strap btw

Are Disabled and Disconnected devices set to show?

Right Click in the Sound / Playback window and make sure "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" are checked.

I would be willing to let one of you go on my computer through Teamviewer, because I really think I'm missing something here.

This is really frustrating
Do you think a clean install would really help?

A Clean Reinstall solves everything related to the OS or software. Then you'd know if it's a hardware issue.

Did you follow closely to these steps in handling drivers? Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Eh, I guess it's the only option I have.
Last time I clean installed, my headset worked without even installing Realtek, should I try it like that first? or install realtek as soon as its done?

Hi,

Windows will try to download a Realtek driver automatically for you - I would just let that happen without manually installing drivers at this stage.

Ah, that's fair enough.
Maybe that's what messed it up in the first place?
Eh, I have no idea.

I just asked you if you followed the Best Practices for handling Win7 drivers in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Did you even read them? If you did why would you ask that question?

9. The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Just in case, have your Wireless or Ethernet LAN driver on flash stick or CD so you can install it to get online quickly - these can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer . Then enable hardware driver auto-updating and check for optional Updates.

10. Any drivers still missing in Device Manager after several rounds of Updates can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device, along with possibly needed hotfixes which you can also wait to see if you need.
Driver Install - Device Manager
I would not replace any drivers given by the installer or optional Updates unless performance problems point to that specfic driver. This is not XP - Win7 is the authority on it's own drivers.
• Unknown Devices are often SID card readers, can be traced using Hardware Identification.

• Co-processor, USB and Storage controllers are elements of the chipset.
As I suspected this is likely another case of drivers being handled using XPired methods in the first driver-complete Windows.
