Show sound slider when adjusting volume?

I used to have a volume bar in XP, but those drivers no longer work. I have no visual indicator of system volume. That's significant when viewing online media because the system may be maxed out, while the media player may not.

I'd absolutely love the Win7 sound slider to show up when I turn the knob on my keyboard, then go away a few second later. Is this an option somehow? Are there third-party utilities to do that?

    Thanks.

My keyboard does that. You need the updated driver/software for your keyboard, I think.

It's a very old HP, for which there are no "updated" drivers. I tried installing the old drivers and the keyboard stopped functioning.

I'm really asking about a Windows function, not a proprietary keyboard display. Antman, are you sure you're seeing what I described?

Three different keyboard makes - each produces a uniques OSD for volume, caps/num lock. MS Wireless Entertainment Desktop, a Compaq something, and my trusty and preferred A4Tech.

To my knowledge, there is no Windows function for keyboard OSD of anything.
