Altec Lansing in-built Speakers not working? Okay. In my HP-Pavilion dv5000 (dv5201) it has Altec Lansing speakers, and I can't find any drivers. I had to clean install 7 because my sister isn't smart, and installed Mandriva over XP. I don't even know it's model, because Windows 7 doesn't recognise it. I installed all but the language updates, still nothing. I know there isn't any 7 drivers, but I can't even find the Vista ones. I'm on my Cell, so I can't download and try every driver out there. A direct link would be nice. Thanks,

Along with installing the OS, you also need specific sound drivers. XP drivers are not compatible, but usually Vista drivers will work. However, finding drivers may be difficult at best. I just rebuilt a desktop with an Intel motherboard. I found all the drivers except the SigmaTel sound drivers. I tried what Intel had for Vista, what I could find on the web at various places and none would install and work. I finally installed a separate sound card.
I've seen cases, on Dell laptops, of this and the only option was to use a USB connected sound device (alsong with external speakers or headset), to have sound. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number My Own Build OS Windows 7, 64 bit Home SP1, Win 8 Pro 64 bit CPU Intel i7 3770 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Memory 16GB GSkill Ripsaw F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL Graphics Card Sapphire HD7770 Sound Card RealTek Monitor(s) Displays Viewsonic VA2448 Series 24" LED Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Kensington wired Mouse Logitech Wireless PSU Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620M Modular Case Coolermaster HAF XM Cooling Corsair H80 Liquid cooling with aftermarket Nexus quiet fans Hard Drives 240GB Intel 520 SSD for Win 7

Seriously? I build Desktop pc's out of boredom, but I thought there would at least be Vista drivers. My DriverGenius doesn't even note the missing driver. I really wish it was a Mainstream device. I did plug in my Headphone's then Speakers. Wow, this really sucks. Thanks anyways, dude.

Hey Guys
Found a solution to this. Download a SWSETUP file it could already be in your windows directory.
Open the folder and run the setup file and you should be sorted. | My System Specs | | Altec Lansing in-built Speakers not working? problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:10 AM. | |
