    this is what i plug into where
    Again, don't worry about the front panel audio at this point. We need to focus on the rear onboard audio connectors. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the drivers from there; don't use the disc included with the motherboard.

    Also, you need to check the BIOS and verify that onboard audio is enabled.

    i've checked if the audio is enabled and yes it is... in my bios it said: hd audio "enabled"

    If you checked to see that AMD 880 HD Audio is enabled, that is for audio over HDMI. Did you look at that one, or did you look at the HD Audio Controller setting?

    Also, have you installed all of the motherboard drivers (chipset, onboard audio, lan, etc)?

    i have installed all the drivers at least twice to be sure...i check to see hd audio controller

    i just reinstalled the latest sound driver....... its still not working from the back
