    Cannot enter Realtek Audio Manager

Hi guys, I see in the treads that there are many entries similar to this but none have matched my situation exactly or provided a solution for me.

My problem right now is that I cannot get Realtek Audio Manager into the tray in the bottom right. When I click the arrow to view hidden icons and go to "customize" i can find it in there, and set Realtek to "Show icon and notifications" but it will give me a message saying that "This notification icon is not currently active, it will be shown the next time it is active." At first I assumed restarting my computer would help, but it still has not moved to the bar.

    Additional info:
    1. I have tried everything listed above and below with both the latest realtek drivers from their site and the realtek recommended drivers from my MOBO's site. Both got identical results.

    2. I can find the Realtek folder in Computer>Programs, but the RAVBg64 file will not load, even when run as administrator.

    3. The Realtek audio manager DOES NOT appear in my Control Panel.

    4. The reason I want to get into the manager is because my computer is not detecting my analog Logitec speakers, and I had read that there was a fix that I could try in the manager.

    5. When I open "playback devices" only my sound card is listed, my speakers are not there.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

1.start with BIOS to make sure your audio devices are active
    2. screenshots are nice--but what about the 'properties' for the 'unknown device'
    3. if there is no realtek control panel--then the software is not installed (properly)
    4. if the is no realtek HD shown in the 'sound video and game controllers' section of the device manager--then the software is not installed (properly).
re: 3 and 4 above--that why the RealTek icon is inactive
    5. FYI -- ALL speakers are analog --Modern speakers marketed as 'digital' are always analog speakers. The widespread use of the term 'digital' with speakers is a marketing ploy intended to claim better suitability with 'digital' source material.

Thanks for the reply. I had a thought about what was appearing in the device manager under sound, video, and game controllers. I had seen some people claim that their GPU's were overriding their on-board sound, even though their on-board sound was set to enabled in BIOS.

The solutions suggested to them was to take out the GPU and restart the computer without it and give the on-board sound card a chance to take over. Since I dont have any integrated graphics on my MOBO would I be able to try this, or would the computer simply not be able to run? Do you know if what is listed in my device manager (see the screen cap) is actually the audio component of my graphics card, thus why it my integrated sound card is not running?

see if you can go into your Radeon (GPU) control panel and disable the audio output (or perhaps 'enable it' if it's NOT already) according to the Radeon specs there is an integrated HD audio controller.

Also it doesn't seem like my Realtek sound card (ALC 892 or something like that, i think that might just be the name of the codec used) inst appearing in the device manager, just the AMD HD output. Is there a reason why my computer wouldn't even detect that? I have seen others who's computer show both the AMD and Realtek devices in the manager, and they just select which one to use.

make sure speakers are plugged into proper jack.

make sure audio is configured properly in BIOS.

try reinstalling realtek drivers (you should be able to see a realtek icon in the control panel-if it's installed properly and make sure realtek audio codec is installed (here is link to codec):

Well I am not sure how to check if the audio codec for my integrated sound is installed. There is now way to download it from Realtek's sight (only drivers for it, but not the codec itself) or anywhere else. I can tell you that there is a chip on the motherboard with ALC892 on it. I am not sure if the codec is something that can even be installed or if it already exists on the MOBO. There doesnt seem to be any way to DL it from the internet and there isnt anything for it on the CD that came with it.
If the GPU does have its own audio output then can i just use that instead? For now I am going to try to disable on-board audio in bios and see if that kicks in. None of this explains why my speakers/headphones aren't being detected though :/ Oh and yes the jacks are in the right place, and the jacks are functional. I tested the speakers and headphones on my MP3 and they work, and both the front panel jack and back panel jack aren't detecting the speakers.
