Hello experts.
- I've recently planned video tutorials for our debugging section. Therefore, I obviously need decent sound. The first day I successfully sent a video to Shawn, in order for him to provide the feedback on the video quality and sound. Both were perfect in fact.
- The next day I plugged in my headset with a microphone as I did the day before, and this time the microphone wasn't working. Quite odd.
- I looked it up on the Lenovo forums (that's the computer I'm using for troubleshooting), and the fix was to install the Conexant Audio Driver through the Windows Update. I did, and it got even more messed.
- It turns out that Conexant discovered the microphone again, which is the good news. The bad news is that Conexant boosted the microphone, as I saw in the Windows Sound settings. I turned off the boost, and set the level to a 100 %, and the sound was unbelievable low.
Unfortunately I will not launch the show until this is working!
If nothing is working in the end, I will do a clean install of Windows, I have basically nothing to loose on this laptop, besides my debugging tools - which are easy to reinstall.
The headset is a Roccat Kave.
Thanks a lot,
Frederik.
