volume slider not attached to taskbar but still functional

well, i have an odd issue, my volume slider has been relocated to the middle of the primary screen(multi monitor setup)

it returns to normal when i reboot, but im not sure why it does this, i tried swapping primary monitors but no joy

i havent tried unplugging a monitor yet, but it usually screws up where i keep all my icons, heres a pic of the offending thing, anyone see this? since its not really a window, you cant move it at all
