Finally corrected the problem. I am passing this along to try to help others, but don't just take my word for it. Do your own research.
I requested tech assistance from the speaker manufacturer. Absolutely no help. Went through their
driver list. It was nightmare. Talked to Microsoft's tech line. They tried to help, but only ended up suggesting that I buy new speakers that are compatable.
Researched for a couple of days and ran accross a "driver manager" program on the net (which will remain un-named). It scans your computer and checks for out dated
drivers. It cured my problem in a matter of minutes. It was a great relief and well worth the minor cost for the program. I will continue to gain benefits from it as it will advise of new drivers as they come out.
Like I siad, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.
