    Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum ex does not sound in Win7x64

    Hello;

    I'm trying to make my "Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum ex" works on Windows 7 64 bits, I did install the most new version of the drivers provided by Creative Labs, it seems like it is installed without any problems....the Device Manager shows all drivers are installed correctly...when I run the audio test the graphic moves like if the soundcard actually works but the real thing is: THERE IS NO SOUND!!, I have done all the tests that Creative labs recommends in their page but I got nothing, please could somebody help me to make this sound card works??

    Thank you!

    That is an old sound card and what Creative calls a "legacy" card. Do you have the SB set as the default audio playback device?

    Do you have any integrated audio (on the motherboard) devices enabled? If you do, disable that in the BIOS as it can conflict.

    Try reseating the sound card (with the PC off) and see if that makes any difference.

    Have you tried plugging a headset into the GREEN speaker jack on the rear of the card, in case your speakers are the fault?

    Also, please fill in the My System Specs as it helps us to try and help you.

    Hi, yes I've as the default audio playback, it apparently works OK but the speakers or headset not sound.

    I already disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS screen but the SB still not working.

    When I tested the sound card plugging the headset or the speaker on the rear output jacks (it has 3) nothing happens, I don't think that the sond card is damaged because it is recognized by the SO also the drivers can detect the device and apparently it works...I'm starting to giving up with this.

    I'll try to reseating the sound card hoping this may work.

    If there's another option that could help me, will be appreciated.

    Thanks again.

    If reseating does not work, go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the Audigy and then LEFT click "Uninstall" DO NOT check the box to uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound card. If there was some type of Windows corruption with the sound card this will fix that.

    Ultimately it may just be it has a hardware problem and won't work.
