ACL888 not allowing 5.1 bitstreaming through SPDIF ???
I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I have a Gigabyte P31-ES3G MB and I was running DD and DTS bitstreaming through HDMI and my HIS 4670 card no problem. I swapped around some gear and I need to bitstream through the coaxial output on the MB. I used to do this in the past and it worked fine. IIRC I would go to the playback devices and select the Realtek Digital Audio device then select configure and select 5.1 sound. The configure button is grayed out so you can select it. Also when I go into the Realtek sound manager it only gives me options for 2 channel sound. It shows I am connected to the coaxial output, but only allows 2 channel. It only shows the digital output tab and not the speakers tab? I downloaded the latest drivers from the Gigabyte site, but it doesnt seem to work. I know in the past when I was running it this way video out through HDMI with my old Nvidia 8600GTS card and audio out through coaxial it worked great. It was years ago though and I don't remember the settings, but I thought this was how it worked. I even took out my HIS 4670 card and put the 8600GTS back in and I have the same issue. I tried to delete all the drivers some driver cleaner program to start over, but no luck. I have tried all the settings I can think of in the codec packs for digital pass through, but I get no sound when playing mkv's, or other videos. I get nothing like the coaxial is not even connected.
