Windows 7: Can no longer find "USB Audio Codec" when device plugged in

fireberd, I think this description from the HP site is them...

Description:This package provides the original driver for the Intel Express Chipset and 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family solutions in supported models that are running a supported operating system.
Does that look like them??

Well, that didn't help. The drivers in C:\windows\system32\drivers didn't appear to change at all.
