"Stereo Mix" to record sound from card missing.

Im trying to playback audio for sstv through my sound card and the "Stereo Mix" option is missing as an audio input (recording) method. I have some in-product sound card that came from Dell so I've been told it may not be possible. But I've found free software that does record in the same exact way that "Stereo Mix" would. Is there any universal sound drivers out there that would add "Stereo Mix" as an option?

If you have Dell you may be stuck with what it will do. Dell's, in most cases, require Dell specific sound drivers as non-Dell either does not work (won't install in many cases) or does not work correctly. I used to do a lot of support on the Dell forums and that was a major complaint with certain model Dell's.

If you have a software solution that gets around the lack of System Mixer that is the best you can do.
