PC to TV no sound

Hi we have Dell N5030 with Realtek 6.0.1.6136 sound card, having read some earlier threads I have tried everything suggested including ticking show disabled devices but only get Loudspeaker as a device.

All and any help will be much appreciated

Hi Rodbourne16,
How exactly are you connecting TV to the computer?

The Dell manual does not show and HDMI port for this model.

I assume you are connecting via VGA for the video and from the headphone jack to the TV for Audio (?). That means you have to be able to enable both of those on the TV.

I've seen adapters that will convert VGA and Analog Audio out to HDMI. I don't know if they are available for TV standards other than US TV standards (or whether that matters).

Here is one listed on the US Amazon site: Amazon.com: VGA and Audio to HDMI Converter: Electronics
