    Play sound through speakers while talking on headset mic


    Hi there! its been a while

    So i purchased a microsoft lx-3000 usb headset with a mic and its great!

    however there is 1 problem. I want to play sound through my 5.1 speakers while using the mic on the headset HOWEVER

    When i plug the headset in the sound automatically switches to the headphones and not out of the speakers

    if i remove the usb then the speakers work again but ALAS the mic obviously wont work :P


    any solution to get around this. my headphones dont have the best bass quality of a gunshot or the likes!!

    Open Windows Playback properties and set the speakers as the default playback device, and leave the headset as the default recording device.

I have a Dell Latitude E5550 laptop. I am able to get my Bluetooth headset to work after reinstalling the most current Dell drivers.
