    Sound issue

    Hello,
Everything worked fine yesterday no programs or changes to pc.
This morning no sound. Under control panel individual device has fluctuating sound indicator. Under volume mixer sound indicator is blank.

As it worked "yesterday", first thing to try is System Restore and restore the PC back to a date when it did work correctly.

System Restore can be accessed from start/programs/accessories/system tools. System Restore will not delete any user data or e-mails. If it doesn't fix it, System Restore has an "undo the system restore" function.

Tried System restore. Tried deleting all drivers and re installing with fresh downloads from Sound blaster and realtec. Tried every help wizard available.

    Still no sound.

If you are using a separate SoundBlaster sound card, do not have the RealTek integrated audio also enabled as it will conflict and can cause no audio. Disable the RealTek integrated audio in the PC's BIOS and then see if the sound returns or symptoms change.

    Hi,

You can try running the Microsoft Fix It from the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Tips-for-fixing-common-sound-problems

If the issue still persists, you can even refer to the Troubleshooting mentioned on this URL.

I can't say much for the Microsot Fix it. I have yet to see or hear from anyone that has got a problem fixed by it.
