Intel GPU HDMI Sound w/ AMD HD 6850

    Hello everyone,

I registered on this forum hoping I can receive some help with this, thanks in advance!
I am looking to get sound through the onboard graphics through hdmi. I have done my research online, and found useful information in this thread:
sevenforums_no_audio_hdmi... But I am looking to set my discrete graphics as default graphics device so I can see POST.

    System:
    i5-2500k 4.2 ghz
    16 gb ram
    Acer Extreme 3 gen 3
AMD HD 6850: 1 HDMI port, 2 DVI port, 1 VGA port, 1 useless port

    Setup:
2 Monitors: Connected to HD 6850 via HDMI and DVI. One of the monitors has speakers so I need HDMI for that.
1 TV: Connected to Intel Onboard Graphics via HDMI.

    Problem:
When following the previously mentioned thread to set the onboard graphics device to default, I am not able to see POST on my monitors. If I do not set the onboard graphics as default I am not able to play audio through the HDMI cable to the TV.

    Notes:
I am not looking to bitstream or anything fancy, just want to play audio through the tv.

    Thanks everyone.
    Cheers.

If you always want sound to go thought the TV you might be able to set it as the default audio device within Windows. However if you want the sound to go to both the TV and your monitor it won't actually work.

You can only have one default sound source at a time. By switching primary adapters you're also switching the sound primary default.

Revert back to the AMD cards as the primary adapters. Then, when you need sound from the TV, select the iGPU HDMI as the default sound sorce.

The problem is when AMD card is used as primary adapter, windows does not show that I can use the iGPU HDMI sound output as the default sound source.
