Some, but not all, have the capability to reallocate jacks. If you have RealTek, the RealTek HD Audio Manager that is located in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound Panel is where its located (but not on all RealTek's). If you have some other on-board audio check to see if there is a simi;ar Audio Manager and the options.

If there is no jack reassignment available for your PC/motherboard you can use the rear Speaker jack for headphones. Some also have a "Line Out" and you can also use that for the headphones.

    tks for the RE fireberd.

I cant fix it. I have Conexant CX20671, looked around but didn't see any way to configure that. Do you know how to do it? or can you tell me if it's save to unistal it and instal the realteck you speaked about?

I forgot to mention that I have a portable (toshiba satelite L650), so no rear jack. but what did you mean by Line Out?

First, you must use the Conexant driver. The Realtek is not compatible.

As you have a Laptop, most do not have an additional audio out jack. Systems with a "line out" is basically another speaker out jack.

If you can't get a USB headset that you like (I see a lot of problems posted about USB headsets) you can get an inexpensive USB connected "sound card" and use that. Here is one example. Newegg.com - GWC USB 5.1 Channel Audo Adapter AA1500 5.1 Channels USB Interface Sound Card

I already have something like that. the issue is the lack of quality it provides. I'll just buy a better one.

tks anyway for the help! I'll tell my friends about this forum.

We try to help. Sometimes (many) we win. Sometimes we lose. It is a good forum, though.

SoundBlaster (Creative) has a USB sound "card". Its about double the one I linked you to. Many items you get what you pay for, may be the case with these devices.
