I have Realtek Drivers but no Manager

I bought a 27" monitor, keyboard and Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound System for my laptop; the only thing I can't get to work are my 5.1 Surround sound speakers.

5.1 requires 3 audio ports (as you probably know) but only two of mine work; consequently only either the rear speakers, front speakers or middle speaker can work at the same time. (It only likes to use one port at a time due to the current issue, it's either 2.1 or 5.1, not halfway) My third audio port is a mic port, but I've heard that using Realtek HD Audio Manager you can retask this port to act as an audio output port.

However after formatting my laptop months ago I have the Realtek drivers but not the manager, I can't find any downloads for the manager on the internet, they all appear to be driver only.
IMPORTANT: my soundcard is meant to support 5.1; when I go into device manger and sound properties it says so.
Thanks for reading, is there anything I can do? Or can I only use two speakers?

Thanks, I have a two years old Dell Studio 1745. When I go into control panel, "uninstall programmes" I can see "RealTek HD Audio Driver" which I downloaded from the realtek site, but it clearly said "Driver Only". I need the manager I think, but I don't know where to get it.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

From what I can tell about your Dell studio 1745, Realtek audio drivers are not the native drivers supported by your laptop. IDT 92HD73C1 Audio Controller is what should be installed on the 1745. Have you tried installing this?Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]

I tried installing that just now thanks.

When in the setup an error message comes up "_Exit Error. Error= error in installation. Unknown Error".

    Then it all closes.

Did you uninstall the Realtek drivers before installing the IDT 92HD73C1 Audio Controller?

Nope I didn't; thanks the install now worked. I got onto it, changed the three ports to rear, front and centre speaker and the programme now recognises 5.1. However when I click "test" still nothing comes out of ANY, and I can only get two speakers to work at a time. Whichever speakers are plugged into my front jack (there are three jacks MIC-Headphone-Headphone. The far right headphone seems to be the only one that works.

It's weird though because whether or not something is plugged into the central headphone jack is what dictates whether or not sounds goes through the speakers or just out my laptop, not the front jack.

I've now got 2 out of 3 speakers working. It's now just the Mic port that's not working (regardless of what settting I make it). However I can only get two ports rather than just one to work if I keep the settings on "Mic" rather than assinging a specific speaker to them.

As you can see in screenie. The two HPs now work, just not the Mic.

Thanks for this, but it just still doesn't work. I follow the instructions exactly, but still, only the speakers in the centre port work; the other two do nothing. My current best option is to set them all to "Mic" mode and allow for the two real mic speakers to work.

No idea why when it's setup properly it still doesn't work.
