    Microphone problem in new laptop

    Hi,

At the beggining I want to apologize for the tittle. I don't know how to change it to be well seen in "Sound & Audio" page.

    Laptop MSI
    System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Actual audio card driver: Realtek 6.0.1.6657

I've been using my headset for more than a year but recently I had to change my laptop and my microphone's bar in control panel doesn't raise:

    1. Microphone is not damged because it works on other laptop
    2. U can hear my voice but very quietly

I tried to put in another micro and there was the same effect with bar so I wonder if there is a problem with input/music card driver. About my input - Are people in computers shop service able to fix that?(I mean if it turn out this is a problem and there is no way forward to fix my problem)

I've tried to install several audio card drivers and it didn't helped. My control panel settings and relatek HD audio settings are good.

I'd read a lot about that issue on forums before i wrote here and I still can't find the solution. I hope somebody can help me.

    What exactly specs you need?
    MSI GT683 laptop
    Win7 Ultimate x64
    Intel Core i5-2430M
    motherboard name: MSI MegaBook GT683
    Nvidia GTX560M
actual screen of my drivers(this one downloaded from MSI site - connected with my laptop): http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/853...shot00046m.jpg

I downloaded my drivers from Realtek site and MSI site. Also I checked some other drivers which were installed on my friend's laptops or my former(these I downloaded not from original sites but I think it doesnt matter because sound is great and micro still doesnt work).

During my "researches" I've found something what I missed. I dont know if it works only on actual drivers or not but when I talk to my micro ( read yell) in short distance(0.5cm) that I almost touch it by my mouth the bar in panel control raise(best effect gives whistlling). It means that any micro I put into my laptop are not supersensitive... How to change it?

I have to add that drivers from msi site(6.0.1.6309) woke up my laptop's built in microphone which hadn't worked fine either. The driver doesn't have HD audio Menager and it is not named as "Realtek HD audio" but "device compatible with the standard of HD audio"

    Is my input crashed?

Yes that is the specs it is just good to be able to Google for the motherboard stuff etc

Now have a look at the pic and let us know if that is what you downloaded - as a matter of interest it can be quite a pain at times as I recently did a new build and it took three attempts to get it right.

It could possibly be the input but lets look at this first.

Just in case this was not what you downloaded - Realtek

Having said that you do have a lot of audio "input" looking at the pic you sent.

That was what I downloaded too. HD Audio Codec driver (R2.70 - 22/6/2012).

I have only one input(pink) in my notebook - for microphone.
The pic i sent you shows Computer/preporities/device manager/audio,video and games controlers but I did pic in program like Everst.

As you see on the picture there are more drivers thanks to my video card. I don't know why 4xNvidia... I installed the latest nvidia driver and also nvidia HD audio drivers were installed over.

Kriss if I remember right I had to uninstall and reinstall three times before it got it right. In my mind the Realtek site is a crock and is seriously out of whack.

You might have to try again mate

    Which version should I download?
    Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file)--->> 55004k or
    64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver only (Executable file)-->>100524

EDIT: Eh what a pointless question. Sry guys...I can't stand thinking about a way how to fix my problem and maybe it's a reason why I wrote this...funny anyway

I'm sure you have probably already check the Microphone properties under Sound - Recording but after you install drivers just confirm the Microphone boost is on and the level is not right down. These are usally set correctly by default but in your case they may not be.

Also check the other tabs for anything else that may be causing a issue.

Sorry forgot to say download "64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver only (Executable file) --->> 55004k"

"Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file) --->> 100524k" is twice the size because it contains both the 32bit and 64bit drivers

I think you have the sizes mixed up in your previous post.
