No Speakers After Waking Up From Sleep

I have no speaker sound when the computer wakes up from sleep mode. (Realtec high definition audio). The only work around I can find is to unplug the jack at the back and plug it in again. Is there a way to solve this issue? Your advice would be appreciated.

    Kind Regards

Generally, that is a driver problem. Check with your PC vendor (or motherboard vendor if its a custom built) for the latest RealTek driver. Install the new driver (or if its the same version as you have, reinstall it). Restart the PC and see if that makes any difference. Non vendor sound drivers can either not work or not work correctly.

There may be other problems but the drivers are the first item.

BTW, please fill in the My System Specs - it helps those that are trying to help you.

Thank you for your reply. I have automatic updates set and also use a driver search programme so would assume that all drivers up to date. I have a feeling that this is a windows 7 issue. When the problem occurs the control panel sound settings indicate that everything is working well but there is no sound from the speakers after the computer wakes from sleep. I have to manually unplug and replug the output jack to get them working again.

Don't trust the automatic updates or the driver programs. Go directly to the PC vendor and download the correct sound driver. First step in resolving the problem.

Thank you for your help Firebird. The driver was the problem. I checked again and the driver definitions for the driver update program were out of date. I updated the driver definitions and instaled the new Realtec diver and now I get sound when the computer awakes from sleep. Thanks again.
