| Windows 7 64bit 2 posts | How to get 5.1 surround sound from laptop through TV to Sony BdvE390 Hi, I am having trouble getting my audio from my laptop to play as 5.1 surround. I have my Laptop with a HDMI running to my Vizio E260mv TV and then a audio optical cable running into my Sony BDVE390 surround sound system. | Win7 Ultimate X64 1,729 posts England | Generally speaking 5.1 audio would be transmitted seperately from pc to amp, if using RCA (phono) cables you would need 6 of them to carry the six channels of audio or a digital cable that carries them all together Does your laptop have the correct hardware/ports to support 5.1 audio ? |

| Windows 7 64bit 2 posts | It has the HDMI, sorry I misspoke the "RCA" cable is a optical audio cable running from my TV to the surround sound system. |
